On My Mind 02:43
"On My Mind"© Danielle Savage 2008 (Verse) I got something on my mind. I've got something on my mind. I've got something I think you should see. Said if you wanna help me please, then baby please don't feed, The monster that is dying inside me. (Verse) I got something on my mind. I've got something in my life. I've got something I think I should say... I said I can't hold my tongue no more, can't keep these thoughts locked up indoors, I've something I think I should say: (Bridge) "My heart can't hold it all inside, My heart can only calm this mind, If I let it out (If I let it out) I've got to get some breathing room Communicate and pop this balloon. And feel at ease. And feel at ease. Eeease. (Instrumental Solo) (Verse) I got something on my back. I've got something to cut it slack. I've got something ready to let go. Said I wanna help you feel, That there's something in this life that's real So let's move past the monsters in our beds. Said I need to help you feel, That something in this life is real. So let's get past the monsters in our heads.

WE NEEDN'T BOTHER: danielle savage. sept. 8&9, 2010 We needn't bother with clever urban planners, or more architects merely fanning out the feathers of a great, grandiose, but altogether trite, even if decorous design, made to lay out all the details, of the human landscape within these walls, within the world and the space form which it draws, now, every last bit of the air we breathe, and every pre-meditated little seed, that's propelling us forward with big ideas, bigger sacks of food and bigger wheels on our big new trucks that take you to and fro on wider roads which help to ship the goods you know, but is it bringing you home? Is it getting you closer, to the freedom you long to own? oh perhaps Oh, we needn't bother at all, if it's not for the sake of a good story. Said what's your motivation if you can't get a breath of air, then oooh, you needn't bother at all. We needn't mess around so messily with big machines and destructive dreams, of revamping, stamping, reordering and championing the globe, and then beyond! into brand new homes and businesses, all suited to your particular income level and made to lease-to-own, and then flip for something bigger and better gonna get prepared to bake the batter and then knead it, beat it, roll our the land and weed it, pave it deprave it, and waive our right to change it. And if you can't breathe, but for the lack of natural scenery, blame it on fashion, it's much more in vogue to erect strip malls you know, you gotta have a place to call your own But oh! you needn't bother building it at all--if it aint what you really want and it aint built to last--said what's the motivation if you aint even gonna spend any time there, then woah, you needn't bother at all We needn't try ourselves with every obligation that only serves the attitude, and a highly over-rated one, that more is better and bigger serves a better man, and you better work to make sure you get the better end of the big stick we all biting down on, our jaws are clenched and we tugging hard to get it on our side, oh to gain impunity, from being taken for a ride, oh, because no one wants to be a sucker--- but to be so averted to ones own vulnerability as to adopt an air of almost callous flippancy, oh you've got to be off your rocker, and that's why i maintain that oh, we needn't bother at all, I can't see for whose sake it'd be worth it. Said drop the motivations and come out for a breath of air--oh, you needn't bother at all said oh, we needn't bother at all. If it's not for the sake of your enjoyment. What's the motivation if you can't get a breath of air, oh, oh, we needn't bother at ah-ah-ah-all.

No Flags 03:27
Head in Suburban Hell, feet out to sea, hold up your morals, keep the devil from treating you, friends and foes, it makes no difference you see, they all here to help you learn to live, and love No Flags, No Wars, No Busy Traffic Lanes Head in tomorrow, the worlds stuck on today, siad where you going, why you worried 'bout gettin' paid? Dontcha know all you've got to do is erase, the sands of time.... No flags, no wars, no busy traffic lanes Head in the cloud, I said your heart is in me, you know your spirit don't need no outlet you see, that it don't matter what you're doing, you've got to remember why you came here. No flags, no wars, no busy traffic lanes.

Tables 04:10
Tables© Danielle Savage 2008 And walk this road, Through thick and thin, Whether I lose, Or if I win. No beggin' mercy, and I love the heat. Said oh! oh, to be human, in all it's skins. And if it rolls, Or if it weeps, And if I'm getting, in way too deep, I wake up laughing, 'cuz the tables have turned. Said oh! Don't you turn away from, the feelings that come. I got no pride, I've got no shame. I've got no rule, I got no blame But I've got no-thing, and it fills me to the brim. And if yer feeling portable; you've goooot to move. And walk your road, Through thick and thin. Whether you lose, Or if you win. You gonna wake up laughing! Because the tables do turn. Said oh! Don't turn away from.... Don't turn away.

"Plight Of Time"© Danielle Savage You wouldn't weigh your time, and I couldn't measure my life, But I know it's worth the while, to stay up and write all night. Oh, you don't owe me, nothing, not even your company. Oh, nobody owns this, owning it's been sold up and gone. I felt in-to this feeling, I know just what it is, but I've hardly said a word about it to you, when you gonna ask me why? (Bridge:)I reserve the right, to do what I wanna do all the time; and you have this same right, too... you aint gotta explain to nobody... (Chorus) It's our plight, hey yah So take it by the horns, and ride And you are not indifferent, oh, nor am I So shake it off what's illin' your mind (here) And I bleed this wound, lick with my tongue and antiseptic, too. And I know I've got it for you but I've got to clean the house. My heart is made of wood, my heart is made of gold. My heart is made of water, and it is going to rain. You could spend all your life, entertaining every possibility. But there's so many places, if you think like that you'll go crazy. (Bridge 2:)(yet), no matter what, we will keep it your right, to do just as you like, all the time, and thank the forces that be there are people that know how they want to live.... (Chorus) (Instumental) Mortality, it aint nobody's friend or enemy, No No No, nobody's but me (and you) No No No, and there aint a cause you can see... Woah uh uh oh, and it's revealing its fallacy.
6.
Home Is Where Your Attention Is© Danielle Savage 2008 Home is where your attention is, keep it in you and let it live. Rolling through or staying here, all beginnings, ends are here. Oh you see, things will be you see them, oh you be, be your thoughts the way you need them. (Chorus) Move into my bones, hear the tide its rolling, show me my teeth, so I can bite right through this rope and wriggle myself free, 'cuz I been here awhile, so pleeeease, please, don't let up on me. I been locked up in a jail house of rationale with great big bars, and all the while the door was ajar and the ground was hard. Oh you see, how do I keep my mind from shaking? Oh, as I leave, leave these bars and wander out.... (Chorus) I can see you in the eyes of my fellow men. I can hear you, in the words, in the words of those who came before me. Now tell me, now tell me, now tell me yeah. Now tell me how do I leave these bars, and wander out? Leave this room and wander out? (Outro) Things will be the way you see them. Yeah, oh. Things will be the way you see. Things will be, things will be eeeeeee... Things will be....

"Polluted Youth"© Danielle Savage 2008 I know the 'polluted youth'. I heard what they want from you. They say don't put no feelings towards it (cuz) in the end you can fuck it or join it (Chorus) It becomes one and the same; it's our way of bowing out lightly. I never heard a word I been told, by the age old high and mighty. Breed your bags down to the next generation, and try to hold 'em there, look down at another polluted youth. They say you're always worse off than the last ones, you may look small but ya carry a big gun. The days of old are behind us... look forward with all your blind trust. (And I'm sure it don't matter what you do; it all comes out as polluted youth....) (Chorus) It becomes one and the same, it's our way of bowing out lightly. I never heard a word I been told, by the age old high and mighty. Breed your bags down to the next generation, and try to hold 'em there, look down at another- disenfranchised youth. (Bridge) Silly little basket heads.... daddy didn't do his job with you, Misrepresented little you. Biters, haters, its all hanging/ weighing on you.... (Chorus) It becomes one and the same; it's our way of bowing out lightly. I never heard a word I been told, by the age old high and mighty. Breed your bags down to the next generation, and try to hold 'em there, look down at another polluted youth.

No Strings 04:05
No Strings: I will not fight, and no, I don't want a ride, I know you'd like to get some ass, but find some other patch of grass- I am not your stop-at-the-side-of-the-road-and-assert-your-dominance-over kind of gal, When I woke up in here, I had a feeling, in my stomach, and now I'm asking you- please leave me alone. When I wandered by your scene, I knew right then- it weren't for me. I know you like the games you play, if you didn't have them, what would you do all day? I'll make you an explicit diorama of your life- and when you see it you will say; 'oh my god! do I really cause such strife'?? Said you could tell by his face, that man he means no grace- it could be a woman, too- they are the kind that will take from you- I said now they aint got no power source, if they find your jack, they'll plug into yours, and run it dry--- but you could clearly make out their form with your eyes...and when you do, they won't catch you by surprise! You, you, you, you, you, you, you got some changing to do, said you, you, you, you got some changing to do. Or it's only a matter of time, before someone sticks it to you. Said oh, you aint gotta acquiesce, everybody, no you don't gotta hang around no hole..... You aint gotta say it with force, oh no, but I'll tell you as a matter of course, hey ya, use your tongue right, not everything is WHITE! WHTE! WHITE!- make yourself clear, and then you can leave with no strings, no strings- no strings yeah yeah yeah, no strings, uh uh uh oh, no strings ba bah buh bum, no strings.

papercuts 05:47
Papercuts© Danielle Savage 2008 Lord know, gonna cause a roll, build your home, and I need this time, I know By the time it's over, no, can I get my soul, into this body? (Bridge) Where is the ground, that leaves without a sound? What is this emotion, that causes my heart to pound? I could feel it spelling out, the sound of my thoughts, and it was ooohhh soooooo loud. (Chorus)Oh, the whole world seemed so very lound. Felt like papercuts coming in on every sound. So I moved with the motion of it. Beating out--loud. Can't control the future, or get to before. I need this time, I know, you can't make it 'more'. Can I get my whole person, into this body? (Bridge) Where is the ground, that leaves without a sound? What is this emotion, that causes my heart to pound? I could feel it spelling out, the sound of my thoughts, and it was ooohhh soooooo loud. (Chorus)Oh, the whole world seemed so very lound. Felt like papercuts coming in on every sound. So I moved with the motion of it. Beating out--loud. (Chorus)Oh, the whole world seemed so very lound. Felt like papercuts coming in on every sound. So I moved with the motion of it. Beating out--loud.

(chorus) I said oh, I might have to climb, but if I get to the top, I'm gonna fly, oh, I might have to climb, but if I get up to the top I'm gonna fly, uh oh oh oh oh oh...uh oh oh oh oh oh, uh oh oh oh oh oh, yeah yeeeah. Said my wings were sewn together, you know, so when I tried to fly, I just fell and rolled, and all dem birds would laugh at me, as I falled and they sat at the top of the tree, (chorus)Said oh, I need to get unsewed, but if I find a stitch ripper I'm gonna flow, said oh, I need to get unsewed, but if I find a seam ripper I'm gonna flow, uh oh oh oh oh oh...uh oh oh oh oh oh, uh oh oh oh oh oh, yeah yeeeah. Said my house was too dry, i almost died good, I had to use my paws to get down past the wood, and every time the fished went swimming under me, as I dug and they shout up profanities, (chorus)Said oh, I might have to dig, but if I find my way through the bottom I'm gonna swim, said oh, I might have to swim, but if my fins ever get to working I'm gonna swim, uh oh oh oh oh oh...uh oh oh oh oh oh, uh oh oh oh oh oh, yeah yeeeah. Said my feathers were scattered about on the ground, I looked around, teary-eyed, my heart did pound, and then proclaim: "i'm gonna get me a stick of glue, and do what I have to do, and do what I have to do, and one day, one day, I'm gonna fly, I'm gonna flyyyyy, I'm gonna swiiim, and all this digging, has done the body good.

don't mean to be rude.---danielle savage---written on Norma Chargoys roof in Coyoacan, Mexico, d.f., on jan. 5, 2009. Yes I'm sure we've gone mad, and I truly care. i know that you can feel it too, whether or not you choose to share. I've quit understanding why there's merit in holding it in, but instead of cutting power grids, I'm gonna sing… My- heart is fluctuating. I- feel elated then like shaking. Where you go to find your solitude? I don't wanna be curt, I don't mean to be rude. Yes it's a mess, there are too many things to care about- but do yourself a favour, and know what you can do without. I was overtaken, by a senseless pity. but now my face won't leak no more, I'm starting to breathe. My- whole world is oscillating. I- feel elated then like breaking. Where (do) you go to find your solitude? I don't wanna be curt, I don't mean to be rude. Oooh, but it's good for you. This solitude, I don't mean to seem removed. But it's ne, necessary. Oh, Yes I'm a handful, and we all gotta be, accountable for ourselves. But I just don't get why it's worth it, to hold it, so tight. Who was I trying to spare? Going through the motions, though I couldn't bear it. But I am here, despite myself, and I'm not made of accidents, and I don't have to yell. So right, right, right I don't want to be. Oh, it's only you, that's good for me..…. Oh the whole world, is fluctuating. I- feel (all) elated then like shaking. Where (do ) you go to find your solitude? I don't mean to be curt, I don't mean to be rude. I don't mean to be curt, I don't wanna be rude. I don't wanna be curt, I don't mean to be rude. I don't mean to be curt, I don't mean to be rude.

Look-Here-Lady-Man---danielle savage--written dec. 30, 31, 2008, on the Chargoy family's roof, coyoacan, mexico, d.f. There was a young woman doing laundry on an adjacent roof, which has nothing to do with the song. does it? Look here lady, I don't want your man-friend, look here man, I don't want your girl. Just cuz I looked you's in the eye when you walked by, it don't mean I had a motive why. I didn't know I need a motive why. The days are passed with passerby. if I get curious, I glance 'em in the face. I'm not sure why I should cast away my eyes, I don't know why she swallowed that fly, perhaps we'll die. Look here lady I don't want your woman. Look here man, I don't need (to have)your guy. Just (be)cause I glanced at they when you walked by, it didn't mean I had a reason why. I didn't know I need a reason why/. People are such an anomaly! When you look at them, there's so much too see. Sometimes they're MAD, sometimes they're pleased. Sometimes they're jealous, when you look, you'll see. Look here lady-man, I don't want your woman-manfriend. Look here, I don't gotta get with your (significant) "other". Just because I looked you's in the eyes when you walked by, it don't mean I had a fire in my pants. It don't mean I wanna go down on your ass. ass. ass. ass. Why would I want to steal your partner? Don't you think just maybe that I got my own(/ could find my own)? And why would I want the kind of person that looks longingly at other women when they've (already) got one beside them?>? Look here lady, I am not a sexual opportunist (or attention fiend). Look here man, this is not a conquest. And there are those who never look in each other's eyes, but I looked at all of yours and they were very nice. And may I add, they were very nice. And, may I add, you have very nice eye's.

wildabeast 05:08
Wildabeast: Written in Calgary in December, 2009 in Bowness I've got a throb, in my chest, I've got a feeling coming outta my breast, and you've got parts that need it too, so why don't we get together and see it through, because I don't wanna think about the race, distract myself with details and the chase of monetary gains, stupid little pains! But I've got an idea better than that, i've got a predatory feeling ready to attack, and it's prey is you, I pray, and it's prey is you, I pray. Said I don't care if we're animals or not! Unleash a wildabeast on you, made of human heart, and it will thicken up the plot, and it will thicken up the ploooot Because I ~ was made to give love. And you~ you may be my release. Give up the front, let it shake your mind, don't write it down, forget about time, I've caught a feeling I don't want to define, I'll show you yours if you show me mine. It's so vast that I won't describe it, I can't fake it, I don't take bribes, but I'll take it on with all my heart, I will take it on within my heart! Because I've got a throb in my chest, I've got a feeling coming out of my breast, and you've got parts that need it, too, so why don't we get together and see it through, because I don't wanna get caught up in thinking, 'bout whether in the end we'll be floating or sinking, I just wanna move right now, we could swim in this ocean, I will show you how, Because I ~ was made to breathe love. And you~ you were made for this too. Yeeeah, You were made for this, too. I've got a throb in my chest, I've got a feeling coming out of my breast, and I know that you need it, too, so why don't we get together and work it through, because I don't wanna think about no racing, bout monetary gains and the stuff I should be chasing, distracted little games, and stupid little pains, but I've got an idea better than that! I've got a feral feeling ready to attack! and it's prey is you, I pray, and it's prey is you, I pray.... Because I ~ was made to breathe love, yeeeah. And you~ you were made for this too. Yeeeah, you, you, yeeeah, yeeee ah ah You were made for this, too.

REAL food 05:49
REAL FOOD----danielle savage. written sept 28, 2008 and march 2010. Oh, sadness evaporates, like sweat. And oh, the madness of Violence Leaves me now, to myself. And my cheeks have seen enough, flooding pouring down, as a reminder of the bittersweet sentiments that had drowned out a real thought coming through, and providing me with you, with what i need to do… You've got to listen, to their theories on war, listen, to the things you may abhorr, and listen, to all you get exposed to, and don't even try to process it, just give it back raw as real food. real Food, Real Foooood. Real Food. Real foooood. Oh, it's coming around. Oh, what's gonna feed our bodies now? We need sustenance and good love, and to do away with time…you've got to live outside your living room, and quit calling everything "mine". Oh, mindlessness finds no place here, though it's not full. But the space is just space, not endless somethings, filled to the top with anything. And my heart has felt enough, restless yearnings reaching out, as a reminder of the ghostlike mayhem that had found out it's way in to my script, but now that I'm equipped, to stop pointing fingers, I will. You've got to listen, to all you get. listen, with both ears and your head, listen, now, more than you could, and don't even worry what comes of it, just give it out -RAW- as real food, real food, real fooooood. Real food. Real Fooooood. Oh, they're coming around. Oh, who's gonna feed our bodies now? We need sustenance and real love, and to do away with time. You've got to give up on controlling it, and quit calling everything "mine". Listen to your ducks, if you got 'em in a row. Listen to tomorrow, (be)cause it's coming through your door, listen, listen, to the beating of your heart. listen, listen, so you know where to start. Listen to the doors cos they're coming right down, listen to your walls cos they're falling around. Listen to your windows as they crash to the ground. listen to your roof and it's crumbling sound. (Be)cause you don't need no doors, and you don't need no walls, and you don't even need a house and you don't even need a law, and you don't need to own it all , and you don't need to have it all, and you don't need to break the fall, and you don't need to make it all, and all you've got to do is stop, and all you've got to do is ask, and all you've got to do is look, and all you've got to do is bask (in it) in it….. (fade out)

You are saved (thoughts are things)--danielle savage--written late 2008 & 2009 mexico and b.c. Contemporary willing is losing, losing more, than resources and time. You can't expect anybody to save you, but you can take it for your own. You are saved, you are saved!!! Go on, make it your name. Si tienes algo que decir, dilo pronto, dilo fuerte, dilo que sientes, sino, calla y encuentra paz en tu silencio. With words, you can kill or you can heal. it's your choice, it's your choice. You can have it, oh you can have it--go on, reach out and grab it. Cos' there is non-one gonna bring salvation to you, but you can make it for yourself. Get off your duff, get off your duff- get out, and work your stuff. Si tienes algo que hacer, haz lo pronto, hazlo fuerte, hazlo que sientes, sino, calla y encuentra paz en tu silencio. ooooohhhhh, ooohhhhh, ooohhhhh. you say "it was a breeze", well, wind does blow. And like the wind when your thoughts blow across the water, they're going to land on someone else's shore. And one day, when you get to travelling you gonna greet them on that shore, you gonna greet them on that shore, you gonna see them on that shore.

Truck Song 04:21
Truck Song: Written in New Orleans in 2004 I should have gotten you locked up, i should have gone away, but there's no repentance, only bad luck, I should have run you over with my truck. Now it's only some time, for a lifetime of freedom, who says that crime don't pay? They gonna hear about this tomorrow, from the man who's life I borrowed, I'll tell them that my baby went away, I'm going to get myself a new dress, I'm going to wash my hands clean, because life's too short for aching, so my baby's life I'm taking, and then I'm gonna find a brand new one for me. Now I should have got you sent away, I should have locked myself up, but there's no repentance, only a dented truck, and now I guess you're shit out of luck. You know your spirit only weighs seven grams, I bet you it's no bigger than one of my hands, but my truck it weighs a ton, this I know, because the owners manual in my glove compartment tells me so, it's gonna save me right away from this misery, because my truck against your seven grams will set me free, I'll tell them, my baby went away, I'll just tell them, my baby went away, when the cops come looking my baby went away........

Nighty Night!-- danielle savage- written mostly on Sept. 12, Point la Nimb, N.B., & one day in march 2011 Sleep deprivation, is plaguing humanity, jacked up on stimulants, and vanity. They can't bear to miss a second, for fear that they might come in second best- they can't sleep a wink. Insomnia won't loosen up it's grip. Effectiveness is-oh, abandoning ship. To gain more hours and fill your time, it's quid pro quo you sell your clarity of mind- they can't sleep a wink. *(Chorus) And they don't have no mental energy left for nothing intellectual 'cos it's taken up at work. And when they finally get home to get some much needed rest, oh-oh they can't, they are too stressed.* Sleep deprivation, is degrading families. Can't stop their bickering, for they haven't slept a wink. They can't bear to miss a second, and now they can't bear most anything, 'cos ooh, they're in over their heads. Coping skills have steadily declined. And if you look for a reason I'm sure you will find, that getting horizontal will heal you of the mental confusion you can't get rid of, oooh, go back to bed. *(Chorus)* <Instrumental 1 verse> It's true they've got a fear of idle hands. They're worried 'bout letting their negotiations stand. But the paradox about this obsession is it robs you of your foresight and not to mention, the endurance to see it through. *(Chorus)* *(Slow-Chorus 2) Nighty night, and the sleep fairy kissed your cheek. May you drift off right through to the moorn', and not even stir a peep, that the sandman may come and leave a gift(ey) in your eyes, oh, oh, ohhh, nighty night. Nighty night. Nighty night. (story) (fast verse)Wake up! wake up! wake up you goon! You fell asleep! You can't do that in public, you fool, you look like a creep! If you can't get ahold of yourself and deprive your body like the rest of us, oooh, you don't wanna find out what will happen!
